The short answer
Vayyar Care is a radar on the wall or ceiling that detects falls without a camera, sold today to senior living and care facilities, where staff respond through the nurse call system. Families looking for it at home will find that its home route through Amazon's Alexa Together ended in May 2025, and Walabot's site no longer lists Walabot Home. For clients in their own homes, the alternatives a home care agency can offer are Senecta, which senses heat and sound, asks the client first and then calls the agency and the family; Pontosense (radar); Sensi.AI (audio); and StackCare (motion sensors).

How each one works
Vayyar Care uses radar. A sensor on the wall or ceiling maps the room with radio waves, with no camera and no sound, and detects a fall when a person is alone in the room; it also reports getting out of bed and presence. Vayyar or its authorised installers fit it on the building's Wi-Fi, and an installer reconfigures it when furniture moves. Its alerts go to the facility's nurse call system or to Vayyar's app, and it connects to senior living software such as PointClickCare.
Senecta looks at heat and listens for events. A low-resolution thermal sensor sees a person as a warm shape, and a microphone listens for the sounds that go with a fall. The pair is built for one question, whether someone went down and stayed down, and the pod asks the client “Are you okay?” before anyone is called. If the answer is not a clear yes, it calls your agency and the family's emergency contacts in the order you agreed. How Senecta detects a possible fall explains the method and its limits.
What is kept, and the consent conversation
Neither captures pictures. Vayyar Care's radar has no camera or sound, and its terms say Vayyar keeps the diagnostic, telemetry and analytics data the product generates, including after the agreement ends. Senecta's thermal sensor sees a person as a warm shape and its microphone's sound is analysed as it happens; nothing is kept except the heat images and audio of a possible fall. The difference that matters at home is the voice: Vayyar Care works without sound, so the first person the client hears is whoever responds, while Senecta's pod speaks to the client first. Our security and privacy page sets out exactly what Senecta keeps.
Who answers when something happens
Vayyar's terms say plainly that it is not a call center and cannot contact or dispatch medical help; in a facility, the staff who receive the alert do that. At home there are no staff down the hall. Senecta asks the client first, out loud, and if the answer is not a clear yes it calls your agency and the family's emergency contacts, one after another, until someone answers. Senecta is not a staffed emergency service either; your response plan is what turns an alert into help (see how it works).

Questions agency owners ask
What are the alternatives to Vayyar Care for someone living at home?
Vayyar Care is sold to care facilities today; its home route through Amazon's Alexa Together ended in May 2025. For people in their own homes, home care agencies can offer Senecta (heat and sound; it asks the person first, then calls the agency and the family), Pontosense (radar), Sensi.AI (audio) or StackCare (motion sensors).
Can families still buy Vayyar Care or Walabot Home?
We found no current offer for families: Amazon says Alexa Together is no longer available (May 2025), and Walabot's site no longer lists Walabot Home.
Does Vayyar Care call for help?
No. Its terms say Vayyar is not a call center and cannot contact or dispatch medical help; the facility's staff respond to its alerts.
Does Senecta need Wi-Fi or an installer?
No. Each pod has its own cellular connection and plugs into a power outlet; your team places it in the rooms that matter.

We have described Vayyar Care and the other products from their own public pages and their partners', as read on October 21, 2026, and linked each one; their offers may change. Senecta is not an emergency service or a staffed monitoring centre, does not replace in-person care, and no system detects every fall.
