The short answer
SafelyYou is built for senior living: AI cameras in residents' bedrooms in assisted living and memory care communities, with its own remote team confirming each fall before the community's staff respond. We found no SafelyYou offer for people in their own homes. For home care agencies, whose clients live at home, the alternatives are room sensors without cameras: Senecta, which senses heat and sound, asks the client first and then calls your agency and the family; Sensi.AI (audio); Pontosense (radar); and StackCare (motion sensors).
At a glance
| SafelyYou | Senecta | |
|---|---|---|
| How it senses | AI video: a camera in the corner of the resident's bedroom, switched on after consent | Low-resolution thermal sensing plus sound; no ordinary camera |
| Built for | Assisted living and memory care communities; we found no offer for private homes | Clients in their own homes, through home care agencies |
| What it notices | Falls, including ones nobody saw, and scheduled virtual check-ins at night | A possible fall in the room; it asks the client first, then calls the people in the response plan |
| What is kept | The video around a fall, without audio; no live viewing, and other video deleted within minutes | Nothing, except the heat images and audio of an event classified as a possible fall |
| Who answers alerts | SafelyYou's remote team confirms each fall, then the community's staff respond through nurse call | Your agency and the family's emergency contacts, by phone; no monitoring centre |
| Setup and connection | A camera mounted on a wall or ceiling, connected over Wi-Fi, Ethernet or LTE | Plug-in pods with built-in cellular; nothing to mount or join to the home's Wi-Fi |
| Whose brand families see | SafelyYou's; we found no white-label option | Your agency's |

How each one works
SafelyYou watches. A camera with artificial intelligence sits in the corner of a resident's bedroom in an assisted living or memory care community, switched on once the resident or their representative consents. When it sees someone on the ground, including after a fall nobody witnessed, SafelyYou's remote team checks the video and the community's staff are alerted through their nurse call system; its clinicians then review falls with the community. It is built for a building where staff are on hand around the clock.
Senecta looks at heat and listens for events. A low-resolution thermal sensor sees a person as a warm shape, and a microphone listens for the sounds that go with a fall. The pair is built for one question, whether someone went down and stayed down, and the pod asks the client “Are you okay?” before anyone is called. If the answer is not a clear yes, it calls your agency and the family's emergency contacts in the order you agreed. How Senecta detects a possible fall explains the method and its limits.
What is kept, and the consent conversation
SafelyYou keeps video, not sound. Its terms say it provides no audio, and a community that uses it says there is no live viewing: only the video around a fall is saved, and the rest is deleted within minutes. That video lets a nurse see how a fall happened. In a client's own home, many families do not want a camera in a parent's bedroom at all. Senecta has no ordinary camera: its thermal sensor sees a person as a warm shape, and nothing is kept except the heat images and audio of a possible fall. Either way, the client or their representative has to consent first. Our security and privacy page sets out exactly what Senecta keeps.
Who answers when something happens
In a community, SafelyYou's alert goes to staff who are down the hall. In a client's own home, nobody is down the hall. That is why Senecta asks the client first, out loud, and then calls the people who can act: your agency and the family's emergency contacts, one after another, until someone answers. Senecta is not a staffed emergency service; your response plan is what turns an alert into help (see how it works).

When SafelyYou is the better choice
- Your clients live in assisted living or memory care communities that already use it.
- You want video of how a fall happened, for clinical review and fall-prevention meetings.
- You want a remote team to confirm each fall before staff are alerted, connected to a nurse call system and to senior living software such as Yardi, ALIS or PointClickCare.
When Senecta is the better choice
- Your clients live in their own homes, where nobody is down the hall when they fall.
- Families do not want a camera in a parent's bedroom, and you want to tell them nothing is kept unless a fall is suspected.
- You want the client asked “Are you okay?” before anyone is called, and your agency and the family called if not.
- You want to offer cover between visits under your agency's name, with no Wi-Fi needed in the home.
Questions agency owners ask
What are the alternatives to SafelyYou for home care agencies?
SafelyYou sells AI cameras to assisted living and memory care communities. For clients in their own homes, agencies look at room sensors without cameras: Senecta (heat and sound, under the agency's name), Sensi.AI (audio pods), Pontosense (radar) and StackCare (motion sensors).
Does SafelyYou work in a client's own home?
We found no SafelyYou offer for private homes or home care agencies as of October 2026; its published products are for assisted living and memory care communities.
Does SafelyYou record video?
Yes, around a fall. Its terms say there is no audio, and a community that uses it says there is no live viewing and only the video around a fall is kept.
Is Senecta a camera?
No. Senecta's pods have no ordinary camera: a low-resolution thermal sensor sees a person as a warm shape, not a face.
